Fiber to the Home (FTTH)
DAMAMAX was the first company in Jordan to offer FTTH services utilizing GPON technology.
Optical fiber has incredibly low loss coupled with extremely high capacity, making it a unique transmission medium. Distance is not an inherent limitation as optical signals can travel 70 – 80 km before they need to be amplified.
Coupled with Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology, the key emerging access technology in FTTH applications, it provides a scalable and cost-effective architecture to satisfy the growing bandwidth requirements generated by advanced applications such as high-definition television (HDTV) or cloud computing.
The GPON standard provides a performance boost in terms of both the “total bandwidth and bandwidth efficiency”, with 2.488 Gbps of downstream bandwidth and 1.244 Gbps of upstream bandwidth and is meanwhile widely deployed in all geographical regions.
To set up an FTTH connection, DAMAMAX lays out fiber optic cables from its Data Center to a shared area in your home, such as the basement, and then distributes the internet connection to your home tenants thereby reducing costs while allowing internet speeds from 10 Mbps to 200 Mbps.
